For convenience and speed, right click on the link inside the text and choose "Open in New Window" | Timekeepers' Origin: Timekeepers are a goblin subspecies, they are born and receive their training in their native land, the name of which I do not recall. Timekeeping services belong to a highly specialized field and can be only provided by a well-trained professional Timekeeper. After completing their home education and maturing in their skills, young Timekeepers leave their country and assume positions of Timekeepers all over the world. They are intelligent, clever with their hands, meticulous in their work, and neat and orderly in their daily lives. Timekeepers never marry and remain bachelors throughout their long lives. Their private lives are kept private and the method of reproduction is unknown. Timekeepers are not what you would call "social", they stay away from noisy goblin gatherings and prefer secluded dwellings. Due to this pecularity, as well as their high work ethics and the gravity of the subject (Time) - Timekeepers are respected, admired and sometimes awed by the goblin community. They are usually well paid by the employer government.
Our Timekeeper is employed by the Goblin Army. You can see Timekeeper in his home workshop. The large clock behind him shows The Official Labyrinth Time. As I mentioned, Timekeeping is a specialized skill and requires a thorough understanding of both Real Time and Relative Time advanced mechanics. It is not a very time-consuming job, provided everything is set right. Our Timekeeper uses his free time for his favorite hobby – crafting time-manipulating devices out of watch and clock mechanisms brought from the Land of Humans.
Just like Humans, who go hiking and enjoy taking home a rock, a leaf, a shell or a mushroom, goblins love hiking in the Land of Humans, and don’t see anything wrong with picking up a pocket watch or a diamond ring, just a sentimental souvenir, a little something to remember the trip by. Timekeeper buys watches on the Goblin Market rather inexpensively, by the basket, and transforms them later into Time Banks, which are incredibly popular among goblins and coveted by Humans.
Time Banks are time-manipulating gadgets allowing to deposit unneeded minutes and seconds and save those tiny bits of time into meaningful years. Traditionally, fragile Time Banks are encapsulated into strong pig-shaped containers which are made of clay and sometimes painted – those are by themselves fine examples of the ancient art of Goblin Folk Pottery.
In addition to keeping the Official Labyrinth time, Timekeeper is licensed to dismantle and safely dispose of the illegal Time Guns – time-killing devices of many shapes and forms smuggled into Labyrinth from the Land of Humans. As many of you might know, Time is widely recognized as the Most Finite and Most Valuable Resource and all time-related violence is prosecuted by the Labyrinth Time Laws which are governed by the Goblin Act of Protection of Time Against Anti-Time Terrorism and Counterproliferation of Time-Killing Devices of 1515 (a well-known GAOPOTAATTCTKD-1515 Act).
Among other things, Timekeeper sells jars of “Good Ol’ Times” candy. Once you pop one of those wonderful colorful heart-shaped candies, it will take you back to one of your own good old times. Imported from Timekeeper's native country, they are a sought-after treat – for goblins and humans alike. “Good Ol’ Times” candy are highly addictive, as suggested by their logo "You Can Never Live Just One!".
That reminds me of the actual story: Swamp Thing, hopelessly addicted to these candies, once tried to steal a jar of "Good Ol’ Times" from Timekeeper and was caught in the act. Out of disappointment, vengeance and pure spite, Swamp Thing secretly cursed Timekeeper with The Stupendous Moss Overgrowth Curse. Timekeeper is unaware of the curse and blames the Labyrinth damp climate for the moss overgrowth in his workshop. He patiently cleans the moss of the face of The Official Labyrinth Time Clock, but does not mind it everywhere else – this emerald-colored moss is a good natural insulator and makes Timekeeper’s rocky place rather cozy, in addition to providing color to the dull Labirynth landscape. Cold rock floor is the reason Timekeeper wears thick hand-knitted woolen socks, when he is alone.
Among other trinkets in Timekeeper’s shop, you can see “Genuine Happy Endings”, sold by half-a-dozen. Just like with “Good Ol’ Times” candy, the export of “Happy Endings” to the Land of Humans is closely regulated (and at certain times prohibited) due to the low development level of Human Civilization and numerous cases of abuse of this simple but powerful tool in the past.
Timekeeper’s shop is one of very few places, where you can see a real Time Butterfly – a rare majestic beauty of a butterfly, very well known to goblins and humans and much spoken of, but rarely seen. One can frequently hear “Time is Flying!”, but once you look – “Where?! Where?!” - it is already gone. Timekeeper puts little Time Butterfly feeders in the yard and enjoys their fleeting beauty.
As you can see on the photos, it is evening and Timekeeper is busy with his next Time-Bank project. The detailed work requires consistent bright light, which is provided by one of the fireflies, which are assigned in turns every evening to this duty (compliments of the Goblin Commander). Hyperactive airheads fireflies do not like this chore – it bores them to sit motionless for hours instead of dancing in the valleys, but they do not dare to disobey Goblin Commander’s orders. You can see the one on duty today - he is bored silly.
You can see the closeup photo of Timekeeper. He is an energetic middle-aged goblin, with healthy ruddy color in his cheeks and pale blue intelligent eyes full of life and curiosity. His large clever hands can manipulate the smallest parts of the watch mechanisms with utmost precision. The millions of years of the evolution provided Timekeepers with some specialized features: telescoping eyes that are able to zoom in on the minute detail, as well as a dexterous tip of the tail serving as a third hand.
As always, he is sharply dressed and is wearing a pressed crisp white cotton shirt, a black tie with a golden tie pin, a warm but elegant hand-knitted wool cardigan, soft feel silk velvet trousers in deep wine color, warm woolen hand-knitted socks, and the Eternal Brotherhood of Timekeepers Lodge Ring – a black diamond set in gold. As it known, all Timekeepers must leave their home after training - to reside in other goblin countries, according to their Timekeeping assignments - they are always foreigners wherever they live. Probably because of this fact, they maintain a close-knit clandestine network secret society - The Eternal Brotherhood of Timekeepers - where they meet for important Timekeepers Conferences, attain higher degrees of Time Knowledge, discuss Time-related issues, or simply consult and help each other.

Timekeeper was created by a well known by her friends and family artist Natasha Landerer (Red October) and is the 10th sculpture by this artist. You can see the first few art dolls here, on the Morezmore OOAK Studio website. You can subscribe to the mailing list on the bottom of the home page. Red October sends an email whenever the page gets updated (about once a week), when a new sculpt is completed and available. The email addresses are only used for this purpose.
Timekeeper an authentic One Of A Kind (OOAK) Morezmore Art Doll, fully hand-sculpted without molds of any kind. His base is signed and marked with Number 10. Certificate of Authenticity is included.
This is the first sculpt which includes The Morezmore Key - a symbol of artist's appreciation of buyers' support.
Material: Particular attention was paid to making both Timekeeper and his setting structurally sound and strong, as well as attractive. Both can withstand normal human handing (you can touch all details). That flip he is doing on the photo is not for your entertainment, but to show that the sculpture can be handled without fear. All the details in the Timekeeper's workshop are securely attached the base and will not fall apart. Having said that, dropping on the floor is not advisable. Timekeeper is loved by children and is especially attractive to them, kindly provide an adult supervision as the base is heavy and full of small sharp details. Overall, it is not a toy.
Timekeeper is made from ProSculpt polymer clay over the Morezmore Brickhouse armature - a strong epoxy-fortified 16 gauge + 22 gauge steel wire construction. The hands and fingers are armatured as well - epoxy over 32 gauge copper wire. He was fired following the manufacturer's temperature and time recommendations and an oven thermometer was used to monitor the temperature. Total number of firings – 3 times, including heat setting of paints.
Other materials include
- realistic pale blue glass eyes
- natural Tibetan lamb wool for Timekeeper’s “grey” hair, mustache, eyebrows and tail hair
- natural wool for his cardigan and socks
- silk “tie” with a tiny gold tie pin
- silk velvet for his trousers
- real black diamond set in gilded glass micro beads for the ring
- his lovable wrinkled face and hands with neatly trimmed nails are accentuated with Genesis and acrylic paints
The base materials:
- the base is made out of natural rocks, stones and pieces of slate from the Blue Ridge Mountains, securely set in rock-hard Magic Sculpt epoxy structure, built over a ¾” wooden base
- all the watches and watch parts are real, some of them are rather rare and valuable, but all are beyond repair (compliments of Morezmore Friend and Fan – a professional Timekeeper from the Land of Humans)
- the firefly is made of Magic Sculpt epoxy with natural feathers wings, same for the Time Butterfly wings
- the Happy Endings are made of natural leather and micro beads, the Good Ol’ Times candy is inedible
The only thing that is removable from the sculpture is Timekeeper himself, the rest of the details are dead set into the base with epoxy or cement glue.
Size: Timekeeper is 4.25" in sitting position, the overall size of the sculpture is 10.25".
